ABOUT MAE

Mae Kail is a young, queer, Southern California artist who seeks to spotlight the queer community through digital and analog photography. The common thread in her work is connection and documenting the raw and the rare. While working on her BA in journalism, Mae has adopted a documentary approach – capturing moments of peace, precious, and pure unadulterated joy. Her perspective is informed by an ever-alternating position of observer and participant. Mae’s camera serves as a vehicle of curiosity and preservation of the communities and lifestyles she observes. Her world is her muse, and these are her artifacts.
